Wedding Flowers Ideas
Flowers are an important part of a wedding day celebration. When a bride thinks of wedding flowers, she thinks
of her bouquet, the boutonniere, and the flowers for the reception. The flowers don't necessarily need to be the
same, but there should be some kind of connection or theme between them, even if it is just the type of flower or
the color.
Choosing the flowers for a wedding depends greatly on the bride's personal tastes, but it is important to make
sure that the flowers express the right meaning, are not too fragrant so they overpower everyone with the smell,
and that they will fit as a centerpiece for the tables, the boutonniere, and the bouquet.
Different flowers have different meanings. A red rose symbolizes true love, red and yellow roses together
symbolize joy, happiness and excitement, whereas a marigold symbolizes pain and grief. It is important to put
together flowers that will not only look beautiful, but will also express how you feel about each other and your
wedding day.
Some flowers are much more fragrant than others and when in large amounts may become overpowering. Centerpiece
flowers should have little to no scent, whereas the bouquet may be a little stronger. Not so that it is
overpowering, but enough so the bride can smell the beautiful aroma and so when she smells the sweet smell later in
life, it will conjure up memories of her wedding day.
The height and width of the blooms of the flower should be considered for the centerpiece. Flowers that have
long stems may be beautiful, but they may interfere with your guest's having conversations at the tables. The
flowers may also block the view making it difficult to see what is happening with the bridal party. Choose either
very tall vases or short bouquets to make the most of your centerpieces.
Usually a guest from the table will take the centerpiece, and the bouquet and the boutonniere can be kept fresh
in the refrigerator until the couple returns from their honeymoon, and then they can be dried if the bride desires.
Dried bouquets often become a cherished item that is a reminder of the bride's special day. Wedding flowers help
the couple and the guests celebrate such a special occasion. Choose flowers that are beautiful, symbolic, and have
a beautiful fragrance that will endear you to the aroma for a lifetime.
